The Richard Ivey Foundation is a private charitable foundation located in Toronto, Canada. It was incorporated without share capital on December 31, 1947 by the late Richard G. Ivey, LL.D., Q.C. and his son, Richard M. Ivey, O.C., LL.D., Q.C.

The Foundation has been funded by gifts from the Richard Ivey family and corporations and trusts controlled by them. Since 1947 the Foundation has made grants totalling $48,059,918. Most of the support (81 percent) has been for the General Program category, which comprises projects in health, education, social development, environment and arts/culture. Until 1998, thisprogram favoured organizations in southwestern Ontario. With its move to Toronto in late 1997, the Foundation now focuses its General Program grants on the greater Toronto area.

The balance of the funds has been allocated to three focused granting programs: Biodiversity in Forest-Dominated Ecosystems, introduced in 1992 and continuing today; the Environmental Education program, also introduced in 1992 but concluded in 1996; and Teletriage in Health Care, launched in 1999. www.ivey.org
